With over 15 years of experience as a finance executive and entrepreneur, he has consistently driven growth, innovation, change, and sales in both large financial institutions and agile startups.
As Head of Connect in the management team of UBS Next, the corporate venture and innovation unit of UBS, Luca leads business development and strategic partnerships with VCs, CVCs, and key actors within the high-growth ecosystem. He also bridges stakeholders within UBS WM and AM to drive innovation and business development opportunities.
An active angel investor, Luca founded Starseed, a co-investment network of HNWIs that collaboratively shares deals in private markets and backs entrepreneurs alongside prominent lead investors. His extensive background includes managing a $3bn portfolio in alternative investments, providing strategic consulting to major financial institutions, and generating billions in sales of alternative products. Luca excels at capitalising on white-space opportunities, introducing innovative business models, and forging strategic partnerships.
Prior to UBS, Luca co-founded a successful energy company and served as VP in the Investment Bank of RBS. A CFA charter-holder with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, he combines technical expertise with financial acumen. His passion for behavioral science and effective decision-making, coupled with his expertise in risk management and governance, allows Luca to bring a unique perspective to his advisory roles.
