Michael Monheim is a transformational global media executive with over three decades of experience in developing and leading international, cross-border media growth strategies. Currently, he is a Partner at Vivaldi Group, a global business and brand strategy consulting firm, where he leads the Global Media Entertainment Practice. Michael is responsible for driving the development of opportunities and partnerships within digital media and new technology spaces, focusing on disruptive growth models and global transformation initiatives. He is also a member of Vivaldi Group’s global leadership team, one of 14 partners across 10 offices on four continents.
Michael's extensive career includes leadership roles at some of the most prominent global media companies. His nearly two-decade tenure at Axel Springer Group was instrumental in transforming Europe’s largest publisher into a world-class media and technology company. As Vice President, he played a key role in Axel Springer’s digital expansion in the United States, establishing over 1,500 strategic contacts and driving revenue growth through media partnerships. He also held a leadership position at SevenOne Media, where he oversaw international markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Before joining Vivaldi Group, Michael served as Vice President of International Business Development at AccuWeather, where he expanded the brand’s presence in Europe and Latin America and increased revenues and the active user base significantly. Additionally, as President of FutureTV Group Americas, he successfully established and grew the brand in the Americas.
Earlier in his career, Michael held strategic planning roles at Viacom/MTV Networks in Latin America and was involved in international new business development at Blockbuster Video. His ability to identify and execute strategic opportunities has made him a valuable asset in every role he has held.
Michael is also an active member of several industry boards and associations, including the German CEO Economic Round Table in New York and the American Society of Media Photographers. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Trinity University and an MBA in International Business from Bentley University. Trilingual and a dual U.S.-German/EU citizen, Michael continues to leverage his global perspective and extensive network to drive growth and innovation in the media and entertainment industry.
